Utopian @ Exeter Craft Beer Festival 2019
On Saturday July 6th we were delighted to be part of the inaugural Exeter Craft Beer Festival that was held on the beautiful quayside. The glorious weather brought out a very healthy crowd to sample the wares of the twenty plus local producers who were showcasing their beers. Determined to showcase our high-quality British lager to the best of our ability we travelled with our Helles style lager, Pilsner and our unfiltered British Helles style lager. Eager festival attendees took great pleasure in enjoying a refreshing Utopian in the sunshine with all three variations selling well and receiving rave reviews ranging from enthusiastic newcomers to the craft scene to seasoned connoisseurs.
As well as providing a great platform to show the market the lager we make with such care and are so proud of it was also superb to meet and chat to other local brewers; craft brewing in the South-West truly is a thriving and supportive community and we feel privileged to be a part of it.
Alongside swapping brewing stories with friends old and new we also were incredibly fortunate to sample some fine local cuisine (especially enjoying Desi Junction’s Tarkha Daal) and listen to some incredible local musicians entertain us. It was brilliant to meet so many new people and give them a taste of our locally produced British lager and we even managed to find time to enjoy a welcome pint ourselves alongside our good friends and hosts for the day Topsham Brewery as we listened to the wonderful Emily Davies entertain us.
The day was thoroughly enjoyed by all and it is no doubt that the Exeter Craft Beer Festival is now a firm part of the calendar and we look forward to being there next year and beyond with our full range of British lagers. We look forward to seeing you there and enjoying a well-earned Utopian with you. See you next year!
